We have designed these introductory workshops to educate prospective clients about coordinating their estate planning, as well as to introduce our firm’s philosophy and approach to estate planning and administration.

Attendance at The Truth About Estate Planning™ is required before beginning the individualized planning process. Married couples are asked to attend together. A consultation cannot be scheduled until both spouses have attended the workshop.

The meetings generally last three hours or so, depending on questions. There will be a break midway through the program and light refreshments will be served. All of our programs will be held in Brighton, Colorado (unless otherwise noted).

Reservations are required because seating is limited. RSVP to Dolan & Associates, P.C., at 303-654-0100 or register Online by clicking here. Dates and locations are subject to change. Minimum attendance required.

All of our clients start here, so they’ll have a foundation of knowledge upon which to build. Most people have a little awareness of lots of bits and pieces of the estate planning puzzle, but few have a good view of the whole picture. That’s what this workshop provides: accurate information so you can make informed decisions!

Why Attend the Workshop?

The Truth About Estate Planning™ is an essential educational program for anyone who is thinking about doing estate planning, including asset protection, business succession or Medicaid planning. All of our clients start here so that they’ll have a foundation of knowledge upon which to build. Doing whatever you want to with your estate must start with an understanding of what is possible; that’s what is presented here.

Most people have a little awareness of lots of bits and pieces of the estate planning puzzle, but few have a good view of the whole picture. Then they go in to see an attorney with that very limited awareness, and end up with a one-size-fits-all plan from the attorney’s form book.

This workshop provides you with a broad overview of the planning possibilities—many of which we are confident you don’t know about—so you are equipped to make informed, planning decisions around your real-world goals!

For example: How do you protect assets from lawsuits? From estate taxes? From nursing home costs? From probate? From your son-in-law or daughter-in-law!? All of these topics are addressed at this workshop.

There is no cost or obligation. We’ll provide you a notebook of materials, and if you so desire, two complimentary follow up appointments to discuss what it will take to make YOUR plan do what YOU want.

What if I don’t have a large Estate?

This workshop is for all sizes of estates. Everyone needs to know how to make sure their estate—whatever that is—is used to take care of you first, then passes the way you want, to whom you want and when you want. Everyone would like to pass a bit of their wisdom to their heirs.

I already know I want a Living Trust. Why attend the workshop?

So often, the focus has been on what document should be used: will vs. trust? power of attorney? living will? This is simply the wrong focus, and has lead to a high failure rate among all types of estate plans. Although living trusts are a valuable tool, often used in plans we provide, it has been recently said that “Living Trusts have become the number one enemy of estate plans that work!” I am inclined to agree, and at this workshop we’ll explain why.

I would like to do some study on my own. What should I read?

Attending the workshop will be even more meaningful if you have done some advance reading! We suggest that you start by reading the following web pages:

What should I expect at the workshop?

Blunt, accurate information about what works and what doesn’t, and why. A bit of study on human nature, and the realities of why people usually don’t do what it takes for their plan to work. The importance of the planning process: starting strong, following through and finishing successfully.

We offer no investments or insurance products; leave your money at home! We want to help you work closely with your trusted financial advisors. As a matter of fact, bring them with you!

This is no fluffy “sales seminar”; it is three hours of valuable education. Light refreshments are served. Reservations are required. Come with an open mind to hear practical truths about estate plans that work!
